When we stop moving our body dies.
We see this in the elderly, low bone density, decreased muscle mass and increased cardio vascular disease like Heart attack, strokes and heart failure. But now more than ever we are seeing this in people who are in the 35-65 age range. (CDC Stats)
There are a number of contributing factors, but lack of exercise/movement and “High Intensity” exercise is a leading contributor. Exercise and movement have been shown to reverse many of the lifestyle related diseases, improve the overall quality of life and extend your life!
“I’m tired, I don’t have time, Im busy, I don’t know what to do, it’s to hard, I have an old injury… Are any of these sounding like you? Did I miss yours? Ok, if I did, these are just excuses. I can relate, believe it or not I’ve been there.
I had exercised and participated in something physical since I was a kid, and been a personal trainer and coach for the better part of my adult life. One day I decided to stop in my early 40’s for about 2 years… “Life got in the way, I was tired of it”, those were some of my excuses and justifications to not exercising. But that’s it, they were just excuses! I got lazy and complacent.
This led to weight gain, fatigue, poor sleep, poor attitude, mood swings, depression, poor eating habits, etc…The longer I stayed away, the worse it got. I had enough, drew the line in the sand and started moving again. WOW that was horrible! Every day I hurt, and struggled. I couldn’t believe how hard everything was. NEVER again!!
I realize, I know what to do and how to do it. This is one of the biggest reasons people don’t start. Lack of knowledge, but the internet has everything, but unfortunately creates massive overwhelm and paralyzes you from action! Or maybe you’re embarrassed about how bad you are….
