“Motivation doesn’t last, neither does bathing, that’s why we recommended it daily” is getting motivated so challenging at times? We’ve all heard the words, “I’m just not motivated to…” But two weeks before you were fired up and nothing was going to stop you! What happened??Motivation is a feeling, and feelings can fade. Sometimes they fade quickly and sometimes they fade over time, but they will always fade unless there is a strong purpose or “why”. This comes down to thinking, articulated, focused thought. People fall out of Love, we quit projects, get lazy with our physical goals, stop going to the gym, drink a little more, give up on any and all goals we have set. Most of the time, these objects, these things we once were driven to finish we slowly give up on. Sometimes we blame our circumstances or other people. But we know in the back of our mind that we are to blame. So how do we stay motivated when we just don’t want to do it anymore? Do we just give up? Maybe... Do we blame? You could... Or do we take responsibility for our actions and thoughts? What a crazy idea, right?!How do we take that responsibility you ask…A plan and purpose. We know where we want to end up, but have no idea of the path to take to get there. Without a plan, our goal is just a wish. During the way we will have minutes, hours, days, weeks and even months where we are not “motivated”. But if we have a plan, with contingencies, measurable goals along the way and a very strong purpose for attaining this goal we can make it through the toughest of times. If you are struggling today with something, look back at the reason why, write it down, take note of the achievements along the way, set a few new smaller goals, “Easy Wins” that you can reach along the way. Revisit your why, make it stronger. Pick one thing today, that you can do now. Make it an easy thing, then repeat tomorrow.God willing, The time will pass, where do you want to end up on “July 30 2021”? At your goal or living with regret.
